Ciao, Italia!

Liebe Freunde und Familie,

I am one lucky girl. I am living in Berlin. Last weekend I got to celebrate 11 months of dating the guy I love in Milan, Italy. Next weekend I am traveling to Prague. I could not be anymore amazed and in love with the situation I have been blessed with this summer.  I feel like I have the world at my fingertips, and after this weekend, I feel refreshed and ready to tackle the last five weeks of Berlin.

Last week, I visited a jazz club. Which was suuuuper weird, by the way.

I visited the Ritter Sport Chocolate Museum, which was more like a giant chocolate store.

And we had a cat jump straight through our apartment window!

We then tried to lure him out by making a trail of ground beef...

By far the best part of the week was the week-end. It was hard for me to concentrate on much else because I was awaiting my trip to Italy! I was so lucky to have seen Bryan almost exactly halfway through my ten week study abroad. His parents recently moved to Milano earlier this year, and it was the perfect time to visit them while I was also in Europe. On Friday, I left Berlin around 7:00 by plane and arrived in Milano around 10:30. Seeing Bryan was such a sweet reunion. I swear we held hands for probably 90% of our waking hours. His parents were so sweet to show us around Milano the next day, and to make us some delicious stinky-cheese pasta and endless servings of espresso. The espresso was especially helpful because I wanted to sleep as little as possible and make the most out of the short time I was there.

The Duomo... I think my favorite church seen on the trip so far.

We climbed 255 steps to the top of the Duomo.

Who is the goofy one here?

Thanks to Debbie and Stacy for a great week-end!

It was so good to see familiar faces this week-end, but the best part of it all was meeting with Jesus and hearing from Him while I was there. Living away from community has definitely been different than what I am accustomed to. This week-end, I really saw just how necessary community is to staying "spiritually potent", one might say. Jesus spoke and gave me a bit more peace about what will happen after I graduate next year. Bryan's parents, Debbie and Stacy, were able to advise us and share wisdom with us concerning clarity and discernment about our futures. Also, I was blessed enough to attend a church full of young men and women who were so filled with love for Jesus and warm hearts for one another. All in all, my visit was just what the doctor ordered.

Prayers:
- Salvations at and blessings for the church in Milano
- continued clarity and discernment for the next step after I graduate
- more unleashing of the power of Jesus here in Berlin

Liebe große,
Sam
